Jellycat Peanut is a popular character, and although I’m not deeply familiar with it, I’ve come to appreciate how adorable this crochet version of Peanut is. After doing some research, I can confidently say that this crochet Jellycat Peanut is one of the most charming and fun toy patterns I’ll be introducing today. You can customize it in various ways, from changing its eye design to adding unique decorations. For example, as seen in the second photo, the yarn-made eyes give the toy a particularly interesting and expressive look.

Materials

• light and dark brown yarn (I used alize softy)
• 4.00mm hook
• black acrylic yarn for smile
• safety eyes (I used 8mm) stuffing
• stitch marker
• darning needle
• scissors

Abbreviations

• sc = single crochet
• mr = magic ring
• ss = slip stitch
• inc = increase
• dec = decrease
• fo = fasten off
• btwn = between
• () = total number of stitches in round

Feet first!

Make two:
1: 6 sc in mr (6)
2: inc x6 (12)
3: sc around (12)
4: dec x3, 6sc (9)
Stuff lightly
5: dec x4, sc (5)
6-7: sc around 2 rounds (5)

should end at the side of the leg, if not, add/remove sc so top of foot is pinched facing the right way (see photos) pinch shut and place 2 sc across the top (both loops on both sides)
FO and leave short tail

Peanut

1: 6 sc in mr (6)
2-3: sc around 2 rounds (6)
4: inc x6 (12)
5: (sc, inc) x6 (18)
6: (2sc, inc) x6 (24)
7-12: sc around 6 rounds (24)
13: (sc, dec) x8 (16)
Insert eyes btwn rounds 9 – 10 ~3 stitches apart and stuff head.
14: inc x16 (32)
15-20: sc around 6 rounds (32) *stuff more*
Embroider smile btwn rounds 10-11 ~2 stitches apart using black yarn (look on youtube if you don’t know how!).
21: (sc, dec) x10, 2sc (22)
22: (sc, dec) x3, 2 sc to attach feet, dec, (sc, dec), 2sc to attach feet, dec, (sc, dec) (16) *finish stuffing*
23: dec x8 (8)
*make sure feet are facing the right way and insert your hook through one stitch on foot first then insert through stitch on peanut (this counts as one sc)*
FO and sew closed
