To create your heart garland, you’ll need the following:
- Cotton yarn (size 8/4) in:
- White
- Various shades of pink, red, or any colors of your choice
- Crochet hook: 2.5 mm

Heart Pattern
Use red, pink, or any color of your choice to make the hearts.
- Begin with a magic ring (mr).
- Chain 3 (ch3).
- Work 3 treble crochets (3tr).
- Work 3 double crochets (3dc).
- Chain 3 (ch3) and slip stitch (slst) into the first chain.
- Work 3 double crochets (3dc).
- Work 3 treble crochets (3tr).
- Chain 3 (ch3) and slip stitch (slst) to complete the heart.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for attaching. Tighten the magic ring (mr), use the remaining string to create a loop, and weave in the ends.
Chain Pattern for Garland
Use white or your chosen base color to connect the hearts.
- Chain 20 (ch20).
- Add one heart by pulling the chain through its tail.
- Chain 10 (ch10) and add another heart.
- Repeat the pattern (

) for as many hearts as you like. - Finish with a chain of 20 (ch20).
For this pattern, we created 20 hearts in 4 different colors. The finished garland measures approximately 95 cm (37.4 inches), but the length may vary depending on the yarn size and how tight or loose your chains are.
